Great night of racing as usual at FRC. I really like the Modified Production class and the variety of brands and models represented at this meeting really enhanced this. It was nice to see two brand new entrants in this class, one being O'Brie's BMW M3 (original E30 model)which really performed well on its debut and the other being my Mk 2 Escort which, while not performing as well as O'Brie's M3, was great fun to drive. Formula 1 had a somewhat depleted field but was still fun. Many thanks to Edward and Luke for the marshalling duties performed. Congrats to Ramesh on winning F1 and to Gordon on winning Modified Production and taking the overall win.
Looking forward to the next event.
Steve

Gordon, you didn't include qualifying times in the race report. Can you please post ?
Thanks,

Great idea Ram. I'm all for this. I have a lot of pictures for everyone to refer to so they can find the car they'd like to replicate.

As for me, I book the ZMMA Escort! :)

Gordon,

At first glance it looked like all cars in racing mode even with number 45 car (rightside) front door open ... but that tallish looking "white" boy saved the moment. Realized all cars are at a standstill (grid formation) and I am guessing - he's standing right next to your car?

Huge crowd at hand too!

Good observations as usual Luke. ZMMA was actually built and mostly raced by Simon Gillmore. I believe he is at the wheel in this pic. It was prepared for Group 2 Class 2 (modified, unlightened saloon cars up to 2000cc) and this is a Group 2 race grid pictured. Although I sometimes raced it in this class locally, I mostly drove it in the group above, Group 3 (for lightened cars). On the two occasions it raced abroad, I drove it and it was entered in all classes it was eligible for.

Hello Gordon,

For me - it's telling and simple observation but your straightforward description with those real car racing days (any for that matter) is always very informative holding one's attention.
  • It's also good reason it won't be difficult for anyone to understand why ... FRC is where it is today!
Btw - Is it correct thinking that this racing grid pictured - isn't in Trinidad and somewhere else in the West Indies?

Grand F. Alonso fan :)
