Hi Guys,
A night of good potential for some real drivers races turned into the shortest event ever run at FRC. Although some regulars do not have cars for the two classes run last night, we still normally manage to get full grids for Historic Saloon if not yet for Vintage Sports. Brent called early in the evening to say he could not make it, eliminating his Escort from the HS class and my Chaparral 2 entry in VS had crown gear issues and was unable to run, leaving me with just two cars in the class and therefore only one to loan out to help fill the grid.
Things really started to go downhill when Paul left after the first race for HS cars, withdrawing his VS entry as well. He was upset at having been hit by Luke's Mini exiting the pits one time too many from his point of view and no amount of cajoling would change his mind about leaving. Although this did not affect the HS grid, it meant one less car for VS, cutting that grid down to four cars. After running two HS races and one VS race, Vinny appeared on the scene and invited everyone over to his home around the corner for some drinks and food and this effectively put an end to the night's racing.
Next event's classes: Restricted GT and Slot.It Challenge.
See you on the circuit...
Gordon
