I have read the post on the suggestions and i have to say I agree with it all.
I often wondered when the GT classes would be merged as the present high Mag classes are getting less attractive with staggered starts etc. The other classes are great fun with the driver being more involved in driving the cars and not being a glorified substitutes for a rubber band on the flat out throttle. I am wondering if we should also look at reducing the magnetic down force in the LMP class as well. Just a thought
FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Gordon,
If and when the new 3 class (A, B & C) groupings should be put into effect ...
I think it best/should be done after the recently started (3rd. rounds of) FRC 4 class (A, B, C & D) groupings.
In other words give the well known (fully modified) GT class a noted and final run!
Remember this was FRC's first official (and not for getting a very exciting) racing class, where everyone (and huge amount of drivers) competing had their own model car race tuned for this particular & highly enthusiastic event.
Here's a light reminder (in exact order) how FRC classes came about ... and how some changes were made overtime in green.
Sure you will agree out of all
Luke

Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Hi all,
If others are in agreement I would not be against Luke's proposal which would see the GT class cars run one more time. My preference however, would be to implement the proposed new class groupings from now. This wouldn't affect the next class being raced (HS, APC and VS) but would mean the, at least for me, much more enjoyable MP and RGT classes coming round sooner than before.

Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Hi guys as i have suggested , both lmp and gt can be temporarily stopped for the rest of the year, not totally discontinued, giving us room to dev gt 2017. so fast night will be mod prod, rgt and gt 2017.
Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
I'd like to recommend these classes and groupings, effective ASAP:
- (A) Historic Saloon (HS), American Pony Car (APC), Vintage Sports '60-'75 (VS6075) / Mini Challenge (MC) IROC (3 races)
(B) Rally Car (RC), Slot.It Challenge (SC), Formula 1 (F1) / Mixed GT (MGT) IROC (3 races)
(C) Modified Production (MP), Restricted GT (RGT), Restricted LMP (RLMP) / Nissan Super Series (NSS) IROC (3 races)
- RLMP will have identical rules to RGT, except for the body which remains as defined for LMP.
- In all cases, IROC classes will only be run if time allows.
- From time to time we can have special events where we race full IROC number of races as a priority.
Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Very decisive reply Gordon and all well and good with your helpful notes but here are some of my thoughts ~ with your thorough course of action
Luke
- i. RGT remains as is and no need for GT2017 ..?
ii. GT and LMP will be no more ..?
iii. FLNM is it sidelined ..?
iv. ASAP has to be put in place for any particular reason ..?
Luke

I'm in Gordon ! Let's finalize your suggestion.

Luke, some quick answers:Luke wrote:Very decisive reply Gordon and all well and good with your helpful notes but here are some of my thoughts ~ with your thorough course of action
Some early feedback,
- i. RGT remains as is and no need for GT2017 ..?
ii. GT and LMP will be no more ..?
iii. FLNM is it sidelined ..?
iv. ASAP has to be put in place for any particular reason ..?
Luke
- Yes. RGT becomes our only non-IROC GT class.
- Correct.
- It can be run on special occasions from time to time (unless the majority want to make it a regular class).
- Once the majority are in agreement (because they feel its an improvement), why delay?
Re: FRC Thoughts Mid-2017
Thanks for your neat response Gordon and okay but to your "why delay?"
Have to mention when the AM class was going to be changed to APC ... You made sure there was easy going arrangements with all racers - that this particular class be raced a final time. So much so after it was finalized - Steve requested an encore remember?
So I have to ask the question - why the rush now?
I see the word improvement but I feel you have made more of a creative adjustment to one class in one grouping.
Anyway - I think you should really give the well known GT (and now the LMP) class a noted and final run. Which was all mentioned and explained in a previous reply with this topic.
All the same - if you wouldn't have it any other way ... I don't want to be a bother and this is what the new grouping change may/should look like for the rest of the year.
