Another option is to have the test session next Thursday instead of our regular racing event. Either that or just do one class next week along with the testing. Ram, I want to make it as easy for you south guys as you have a much longer drive to get to and from FRC, so let us know what best suits you.

Something else to reflect and comment on :)

Info @ hand and trying to determine teams & their driver/s ... and the amount of race "ready" cars.

FRC's LMP-E / GT-E One Hour Endurance Special Event

Six Teams / 3 LMP-E & 3 GT-E for controllers 1 to 6.

Constructor/Drivers:

1. Gordon / Cars ..... 1 LMP & 1 GT
2. Steve / Cars ....... 0 LMP & 1 GT
3. Ramesh / Cars .... 2 LMP & 2 GT

Drivers:

1. Luke
2. Luke B.
3. Jon
4. Marlon
5. Dion
6. Alex
7. David (boo)
8. Gary*
9. Kerwin*
10. Paul*
11. Dougie*

Have (an estimated amount *not definite) 14 drivers competing and 3 LMP / 4 GT cars.

Luke,

Although I'd like to see more entries, things will still work out with the information in your post. I've set up the rules to allow a minimum of 3 LMP-E and 3 GT-E cars and anything from 6 to 18 drivers present:

"One to three drivers per car. Each car must make a minimum number of stop-and-go pit stops (car must come to a complete stop) equivalent to the largest number of drivers on any one team. So if a team has three drivers, every team must make a minimum of three pit stops, regardless of how many drivers are on the team."

Still, I'd love to see some more cars entered. It seems that the only people preparing cars these days are Ramesh, Arden, Steve, Gary and myself. I'm sure that many more FRC drivers have at least one car which can be run. For LMP-E, a standard Slot.It Challenge car or slightly upgraded stock LMP car has the potential to qualify. For GT-E, a slightly adjusted stock GT or Restricted GT car likewise. Don't you guys enjoy prepping and racing your own cars? And even if your car doesn't qualify for the race, you're still almost guaranteed a place as a driver of one of the six qualifying cars.

Making a long story short GG,

Prepping is a way of life and there is always something to do, something new with something to learn & tasks to do purchasing things.

In other words - money talks and idle conversation walks ent :|

Mind you still enjoying yours and others wholeheartedness ;)

I don't think Steve spends a whole lot on his cars, yet he challenges the quickest better than I. As far as I can see, having something to do is an enjoyable part of the hobby, as are new things to learn and applying them. In many ways these are just like real car racing, which is what model car racing is based upon.

Hi Gordon,
I don't think that I challenge the quickest any better than you do. The main thing though, is that I do mount a challenge and enjoy doing so. In most cases where my cars' times have improved over their previous appearance, it is not due to spending any more on them . Sometimes all it takes is going over the cars with a 'fine tooth comb' to make sure that everything is as it should be. In other cases , for example the modified classes, it may just entail the use of a little imagination ! All part of the enjoyment of racing.

My potential team mate would not be able to race on the Saturday so Thursday would be better for my team.

Steve,

You have me imagining and at the edge of my seat ..!

Is your unknown / secret teammate ... long time FRC racer - Nicholas E. by chance ..?

Again, the info at hand :)

A forecast for FRC's 6 teams and their anticipated (known and not known) teammates with 6 prospective drivers - in the wings.
  • • Ramesh and Luke B.
    • Jon and Marlon
    • Steve and a hush-hush teammate
    • Gordon and not yet known teammate
    • Luke and not yet known teammate
    • Alex and not yet known teammate

    1. David (boo)
    2. Dion
    3. Gary*
    4. Kerwin*
    5. Paul*
    6. Dougie*
Mind you, not speculating who is driving the LMP-E and GT-E cars ... but keeping the names riveting ;)

Remember these are all the names at hand to make up this estimated list for this upcoming racing event.

We seem to have settled on Thursday 9th for the event. Its possible that we can have a test day next Tuesday (but not to go too late into the night). Please let me know if this will work for you.

(Please ignore my earlier post referring to a test session next Thursday. I was clearly in a warped time zone when I wrote it.)
