Hi Gordon,
if there are others who are in favour of this race using the 1960s GT cars, I will accept the challenge and prepare my Cheetah accordingly. If however, we decide on a non-magnet race or races, maybe we could consider two classes combined, namely LMP and GT (both in their current 'restricted' format). I am suggesting these two classes as in 1:1 FIA endurance racing, LMP and GT cars do race together. I think that in 1:32 non-mag racing, their performance would also be similar.

IROC Racing in 2017
Re: IROC Racing in 2017
Hey Gordon,
I don't know why I just don't forget this racing suggestion I made in 2015 and (for whatever reason) here it is again ... two years later
A GRAND (one-off) Event (sure you will remember) with MGT, MC, NSS & SGTC IROC 36 cars ...

Re: IROC Racing in 2017
Hi Luke,
not sure if I'm reading it correctly but it does not look like all of the drivers will be driving the same selection of cars. Driver 1 in race 1 for example, will be driving (in order): 997, Lambo, F430, Mini, GT-R and Lambo therefore Lambo twice whereas driver 3 ln race 1 would be driving (in order)
F430, Mini, GT-R, 997, 997, Lambo therefore 997 twice.

Re: IROC Racing in 2017
Hello Steve,
Think you're (only) looking at the type of slot-cars ...
Each driver will be racing ~ 2/18 - 1/20 - 1/21.5 - 1/25 & 1/26K rpm motors in different orders
Making sense now ..?

Re: IROC Racing in 2017
In great detail this suggestion invloves many carefully arranged features ... and would like to suggest further.
That only 6 drivers race in this one-off competition.
Anymore thoughts or questions ..?

Re: IROC Racing in 2017
Hi Luke,
if my interpretation is correct, each driver will have to drive two 18k rpm cars. The driver of Car 1 will have as his 18k rpm cars a Mini and a Lambo. The driver of Car 3 in the first race will have as his 18k rpm cars a Mini and a 997. Your assumption, I believe, is that the Lambo and 997 would have similar performance. I do not agree with this assumption but maybe I am interpreting things incorrectly. I would like to hear others' opinions on this.

Re: IROC Racing in 2017
Don't look like that will happen Steve and for only you with query on top of query - is an overall good sign to simply drop this iroc topic.steveaca wrote:I would like to hear others' opinions on this.
Re: IROC Racing in 2017
From a different perspective,
Let's say (if) I was to draft a group of notable FRC racers for this type of IROC event ... and plainly naming a few known persons below (of course others who are willing to partake) including myself ...

Ian (because not long ago he asked me about racing @ FRC ...)

- A racing event such as this, could still be disregarded ..?
Putting aside the "kill joy" thinking - isn't it the amount of persons racing that counts ..?
