RACE REPORT #337 - March 29th 2025 (CMnm, SCnm, F1nm)

Our 337th event for our Clubman, Slot.It Challenge and F1 classes saw an initial relatively small turnout of just five drivers, however Warren joined the session, as did Keith for a short while. Later in the evening Merryl also arrived and did a number of practice laps driving my Ford Escort, so overall there were actually eight attendees, although not all were present at the same time.

Pole position for each class was monopolised by the same driver, however these did not all turn into race wins, as there were many quick cars and drivers, making the racing very competitive, eventually producing three different race winners. For our next event we have to remember to check that the minimum lap time data is entered into the race management software, as this question came up during the afternoon.

We of course had the usual "board meeting" breaks, the final one lasting the longest, finishing at 8:00 PM when we all left for our respective homes.

Hi Gordon,
The car models listed for the Clubman Race 2 photo are incorrect. The models listed are BTCC cars.

Too bad about that suspension mount failure on the F1 car O'Brie. Was great to see the E-Type and Caterham running .Can't wait to see the Kadett in action !

Glad how I showed very early for racing and sorry I left you guys pretty early :?

Anyways ... the time spent was enjoyable & did mention that I wasn't staying for the full event.

Must say ... what was very impressive when I showed up earlier than normal.

Everything ... like table and chairs with the overhead tarpaulin cover plus a portable fan looked very neat and all in place for overall comfort.

The most that was needed again ... was to remove cover from racing table and dust off the track.

What I really would like to mention though - is the amount of work Peter most likely gets done for racing before most of the guys arrive.

At the same time, while helping Petes with the Track ...

He mentioned how, when Ian used to show up early - he did an excellent job helping him.

Hope Petes was thinking the same of me :D
