Racing this Tuesday (6th December)

Post by gordon »

Hi Guys,

FRC will be open for practice from 6:00 PM this Tuesday, followed by qualifying and racing. Scheduled classes are Modified Production, Slot.It Challenge and F1 (3 races each @ 30 laps - 270 total for all classes). Races for each class will be completed before moving on to the next class. We can decide on the sequence to run the classes on the spot.

Track closes down at 10:00 PM, so here's the schedule:
  • 7:00 PM - Qualifying. Drivers not ready will start whatever races they are ready for at the back of the grid in the order they arrive at their driving station with car on track.
  • 7:30 PM - Racing starts. Again, drivers not ready when called to grid will be replaced by any excess drivers who are ready.
  • 10:00 PM - Packing up followed by liming/old talk.
Don't have a MP car yet? It isn't difficult to set one up. Here are the rules:
  1. Body must be modeled after a non-GT production car.
  2. Motors are limited to 30,000 RPM maximum, based on manufacturer's specifications.
  3. A single unmodified Scalextric F1 chip must be used on cars with motors exceeding 25,000 RPM, otherwise any unmodified chip may be used.
  4. Any magnets, braid, wheels, tyres and gears may be used, however all magnets must be positioned ahead of the rear tyres when viewed from the bottom or top of the chassis.
You can see all the class regulations here and the general racing regulations here.

Aaron promises to bring a coal pot and make beef ribs, so it will clearly be a good lime not to be missed. :)

Ice Brigade: Luke (1 bag please).

See you on the circuit...
