New pit exit collision penalty suggestion

Post by gordon »

Guys,

Despite currently having a stop and go penalty for drivers who exit the pits carelessly and take out one of more other cars, we seem to be seeing no reduction in this driving infringement. I would therefore like to propose that the penalty be amended to require both the stop and go penalty as well as exclusion of the errant driver from his next race in the same class and if it is the last race for the event, disqualification of the driver for that race.

I know that this may seem harsh, but I believe that we have lost part of the fun and sportsmanship of slot car racing in our obsessive mad rush to win at all costs and we need to get back to some basics. We are also starting to see a lot of skill-less drive-throughs which themselves need to be penalised more strictly. Everybody ease off - there will always be another race.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Gordon, you have to understand, just today I was complaining about drivers along Mosquito Creek that were pulling on to road, after exiting the fruit and vegetable vendor.

So make them eat a whole watermelon as added penelty

hi gordon,
your efforts in trying to make frc racing more competitive at a level of clean racing is admirable.

my frustration last night is not brought about by drivers who are anxious to get back into the race and in there haste a collision occurs at the exit of the pit lane...that by no means is cause for rules implementation as this may happen on rare occasions..what im talking about is a certain driver who starts the race with good intentions and as he deslots a few times and it dawns on him that he no longer has a chance to place in the top three he looks for other means to entertain himself for the balance of the race by waiting in the pit lane and as a certain driver is alongside he accelerates to purposely collide and derail him...i have spoken to this driver at my home and at the track on many occasions to please refrain but it seems he is too far gone in this apparent self thrill.. when i am making myself available at frc it is to race not to play the ass...i am sorry if i left in a hasty mood but i made a great effort on my behalf to attend hoping to meet mature competitors as i find it a complete waste of money and time to prepare these cars to a certain level of competitiveness only to meet this type of racing that eliminates your chances of pole position...once twice is fun but this continuous habit after many times has really taken away the fun of racing at frc from me..

Paul did you win a prize for the LARGEST post reply I ever saw on the forum other than the Race Reports...If you are such a GREAT slot car racer and a 1 EYE GRIMMER on top of that you could change your racing line on the front straights. YOU be the ONE to do the growing up and for your errant behaviour at FRC,Gordon should make you do a EWWP...EAT WHOLE WATERMELON PENALTY!!!

Have a good day,

Luke
