RACE REPORT #146 - October 17th 2013

Five drivers took up the challenge of running our Porsche Cup and Modified Production classes on an evening which started off threatening rain. Thankfully the rain held off allowing for some close and enjoyable racing. In PC qualifying Arden did better than everyone else to take pole 57-hundredths of a second from second qualifier Ramesh. Luke B. did his usual magic and produced a record-breaking time of 4.955 sec in MP, closely followed by dad Ramesh at 4.959.

Three drivers shared the wins in PC. Racing was extremely close and in one race 1st and 2nd place were separated by 2-thousands of a second (0.002 sec) after 25 laps of racing, an all-time record at FRC.

In MP, Luke almost totally dominated, winning four of the five races. Between his and Ramesh's extremely quick Porsche Boxsters, everyone else had a hard time trying to close in to the front of the pack.

New Lap Records
  • LMP - 4.955 sec (Luke B., Scalextric Porsche Boxster)

Enjoyable night of racing as usual at FRC. Congrats Luke B. on that blistering MP record as well as on winning everything else, including Index of Performance ! I Know we'll be missing racing this week as some of the guys indicated that they would not be able to make it but I'd still be happy to come out on Thursday (if anyone else is willing) to do some track maintenance work. There are some areas of the fencing that could use a little attention.

Steve, the track definitely can do with some work. One area I'd like to address is solder-joining the infield section to improve conductivity, however I really prefer to deal with track maintenance during the day, so I may look at doing some work on it on Saturday after I get home from work. I'll call/text if so.
