This week's event actually coincides with the week of my 60th birthday (tomorrow). In the past we have almost always had some sort of special twist to our event to celebrate the occasion. Since we're lucky to have a holiday to race and can get started earlier than usual, how about let's do something different for this one. We're racing the IROC Mini Challenge, Restricted GT and Slot.It Challenge classes. Please make some suggestions of ways to make this one a bit different.
Here are some of my thoughts (any one or combination of the following):
In RGT and SC, every driver must drive at least 2 different cars in the three races.
All races should be 60 laps.
We also run a Mixed GT series of races.
... it's your turn... make some suggestions and leave your comments below.
Hi Gordon,
I like your idea for having something different to commemorate this milestone, I just don't know what as yet. I'll give it some thought and get back to you.
Happy Birthday Greetings (June 17th.) and I wish you God's Richest Blessings on this your special day
Know I texted this (racing extra) to you yesterday but here it is again for all to see - We can also try out (Ramesh idea) with the FTC class where all 6 cars are raced by teams...
Happy Birthday Gordon !!
I typed up a reply for this late last night or early this morning but was very tired so maybe didn't hit 'submit' ! I'll try to remember what I said.
I only have 1 car in each of RGT and SC classes so your first suggestion wouldn't work for me. 60 lap races could work but there'd need to be a bit of time in between races for the motors and chips to recuperate.
Another idea that came to me was to have a special 6 race event utilizing the cars scheduled for the night's racing. It could work like this: every driver drives his RGT and SC car for 3 races each and uses every hand controller. A variation on this theme could be to involve the Minis, ie. every driver uses his RGT, SC and the Minis for 2 races each.
This event could be named the Birthday Cup !

Yes I thought of this (I only have one SC car available too since Kyle will be driving the Audi R8C). I was figuring that those without a second car could "team-up" with another driver in the class and exchange cars for one race.
I just had a birthday call from my good friend and fellow racing driver Gary Huggins out in Cayman Islands. I mentioned that I've asked for suggestions for something special at this week's event. He said that we should have a Le Mans start with the drivers all running up the driveway to their controllers, but only after several rounds of beer!
A typical Gary comment... he still has the same sense of humour
IT IS ALWAYS RIGHT TO GIVE THANKS AND PRAISE TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER FOR HIS BLESSING OF LIFE, HEALTH , STRENGTH. AND THE PROTECTION OF YOUR FAMILY , BUSINESS, AND ALL THAT CONCERNS US, GG WE PRAY THE PEACE OF CHRIST WILL BE WITH YOU ALWAYS ,UNTIL YOUR NEXT 60 TH BIRTHDAY. THE TIME I HAVE SPENT WITH YOU I HAVE ENJOYED YOUR COMPANY , GENEROSITY , HUMILITY AND KINDNESS,ALL OF WHICH ARE ATTRIBUTES OF A BLESSED MAN, KEEP ON BEING THAT ENCOURAGEMENT YOU ARE TO SO MANY . MY SUGGESTION IS MAINTAIN SAME CLASSES AS SCHEDULE LET ALL RACES BE 60 LAPS AND Q1 BE 6 LAPS .WHEN WE ARE DONE YOU WOULD HAVE RACED YOUR BELLY FULL,AND FOR THE 100 YEAR BIRTHDAY WE CAN RACE 100 LAPS PER CLASS PROVIDING WE CAN STILL SEE THE CARS .REMEMBER WED IS LABOUR DAY LETS HAVE SOME FUN.
